In many modern vehicles, it is difficult or no longer possible to pick up a D+ signal directly from the alternator. However, this D+ switching signal is needed to detect the engine running in order to activate various additional devices. For engines without an intelligent alternator, this works with the D+ simulator, as it detects the increasing voltage of the starter battery and switches it on. In vehicles with an intelligent alternator – mostly with EURO 6 – this is only possible with the D+ Active Simulator. It is attached directly to the engine (cable set or similar) with cable ties and triggered by the vibrations of the engine. When the engine is at a standstill, the signal switches off automatically. The delay is individually adjustable. Function is displayed via LED.
